What Treats Have You Been Feeding Your Pets Lately?

With all the dog treat recalls lately, its so important to take a closer look at the treats you are feeding your dog. So, what treats have you been feeding your dog lately? And more importantly, have you looked closely at the ingredient list? It’s amazing what you find out from that little ole ingredient list.
Take Milk Bones, just for an example. They are a popular dog treat used by many pet parents. Let’s just take a look at the first five ingredients (the first 5 usually make up about 80% of the food)
Wheat Flour, Wheat Bran, Meat and Bone Meal, Milk, Wheat Germ
Well, lets see, it looks like the first two ingredients are wheat products and wheat is a known allergen to dogs.  OK, then, what about milk? Milk can also cause allergies. Ok, so that leaves meat and bone meal, which by definition, are inferior meat-based protein sources. So that leaves us with wheat germ (the only halfway healthy one of the five, but still a wheat product).
If you are feeding a high quality dog food (which you are if you’re feeding Life’s Abundance) and then giving your dog inferior treats like Milk Bones, for example, it just doesn’t make sense, does it? It’s like you’re defeating the purpose when it comes to your dog’s health.
Since you know that your pet’s food is the foundation for a healthy life, you may want to take a closer look at the Life’s Abundance treats.  They are made in the USA and have never been recalled. Yes you heard that right…..never been recalled! They , along with our holistic dog food, are formulated by our company Veterinarian Dr. Jane Bicks, to support good health through wholesome and nutritious ingredients.
When you feed them along with the Life’s Abundance food there is a synergy effect and that’s a good thing.(Kinda like Batman and Robin…..much stronger together than each on their own:-)
Dr. Jane reminds us that our pet’s treats should add healthy components that are known to support hardy immune systems, strong muscles and optimal health. These vitamins, minerals and antioxidants should come from digestible super foods like cranberries, apples, tomatoes, rice bran, whole grains, and other wholesome ingredients that can be found in our treats.
